Bandarlampung (Antara) -Lampung recorded income at Rp4.5 trillion in the first eight months this year or 67.08 percent of the target of Rp6.7 trillion for the whole year.
"The regional income of Lampung has increased from year to year, notably since 2013," Assistant General Administration of the Regional Secretariat Hamartoni Ahadis, said here on Thursday.
Hamartoni Ahadis said the income included Rp1.6 trillion in regional original income (PAD), Rp2.8 trillion in intergovernmental fiscal relation fund and Rp25 billion in other valid earnings.
He said the PAD was already 61.68 percent of target of Rp2.6 trillion , the intergovernmental fiscal relation 70.56 per cent of target of Rp4 trillion and other income 59.48 percent of the target of Rp43 billion.
"Attention is more on reaching the PAD target , therefore, the regional administration has to work harder to exploit the regional potentials," he said.
He said PAD includes taxes, general service fees, business service fees , certain licensing fee, etc.
"Taxes and fees contribute more than 90 percent to regional spending in the regional budget," he said.
Hamartoni said taxes this year include motor vehicle taxes, fee for conversion of motor vehicle ownership (BBNKB), motor vehicle fuel tax, surface water tax and cigarette excise, totaling Rp2 trillion.
"The total is Rp2 trillion and it is expected that with the scrapping of tax there would be an increase in PAD," he said.
