We can say that the compliance in using PeduliLindungi must continue to be improved.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Spokesperson for COVID-19 vaccinations at the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, has urged all parties to improve compliance in using the PeduliLindungi application in public places.

"For the development of the PeduliLindung QR code scan, we can say that the compliance in using PeduliLindungi must continue to be improved," she said in a press statement, accessed online from here on Friday.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, currently, as many as 56,306 outlets have implemented the PeduliLindungi application, with a total of 13,457,013 users spread across Indonesia, she noted.

Through the utilization of the application, so far, 231.568 million people have been prevented from entering public places for not meeting the requirements, the spokesperson informed.

The application has also tracked 6.212 million people who tested positive for COVID-19 and had close contacts, she added.

With a large number of people who have tested positive for the virus still visiting public places, all parties must ensure the use of the application in a bid to make it easier to trace close contacts, she explained.

Tarmizi urged those managing public places to strictly supervise the situation during operational hours by implementing the PeduliLindungi application, preventing crowds and health protocols' disobedience that could potentially open up opportunities for more widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the country.

The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Indonesia in March 2020. According to data provided by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, as of December 24, 2021, at least 4,261,412 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the country, while 4,112,706 people have recovered, and 144,047 people have succumbed to the deadly virus.
