Indonesia records 922 fresh COVID-19 cases, 26 deaths and 2,275 recoveries

Currently, the country has 62,665 active cases or patients undergoing treatment and isolation after being infected with the COVID-19 virus.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Task Force for COVID-19 Response has recorded 922 fresh COVID-19 cases, 26 deaths, and 2,275 recoveries on Friday in the last 24 hours.

Since the country announced its first cases in March 2020, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 6,038,664, the total recoveries at 5,820,179 , and the death toll at 155,820 .

Of the 922 fresh cases, 879 were from local transmissions, and 43 were overseas travelers.

As for the recoveries, 216 were local transmissions, and 111 were overseas travelers.

Currently, the country has 62,665 active cases or patients undergoing treatment and isolation after being infected with the COVID-19 virus.

That figure shows a decrease of 1,379 people as compared to Thursday (Apr 14).

Meanwhile, Indonesia also recorded 3,108 people, who fell in the category of those suspected of having contracted COVID-19.

The data of fresh cases was obtained after 107,605 specimens from 72,984 people were tested in laboratory networks throughout Indonesia on Friday. A total of 93,833,067 specimens were tested from 61,726,675 people since 2020.

The daily positivity rate for the daily specimen category reaches 1.6 percent and the person category at 1.26 percent.

Provinces that reported the most number of additional cases on Friday were Jakarta, with 310 new cases; West Java, with 201 new cases; Central Java, with 80 new cases; Banten, with 67 new cases; and East Java, with 54 new cases.

The most number of fatalities were reported in Central Java reaching 10 followed by four deaths each in West Java and Jakarta, three deaths in East Java, and two deaths in Yogyakarta.
