Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - Minang Rua Beach in Kelawi Village, South Lampung Sub-District, was crowded with tourists from outside Lampung Province during the 2022 Eid holiday period.

"During this Eid holiday season, tourists from outside Lampung dominate. They are from Jakarta and Palembang," the Minang Rua Beach Tourism Conscious Group Head, Saiman Alexcandra, told ANTARA on Sunday.

According to him, during the Eid holiday, the number of beach visitors increased drastically from one hundred to 12 thousand  per day.

"On Wednesday (May 4) and Thursday (May 5), the number of visitors reached 12 thousand. That way, the economy of the local residents would also increase drastically during the Eid holiday," Alexcandra said.

The beach which was opened in 2016 offers many natural attractions such as Jamara Waterfall, Green Canyon, and Lalai Cave as well as beautiful underwater tourism, he pointed out.

"Here, in addition to the beach, there are also other tourist attractions. However, there are additional costs because (the visitors) must be accompanied there, such as Jamara Waterfall (which charges a visitor Rp15 thousand), Goa Lalai (Rp15 thousand), underwater selfies with Nemo fish (Rp65 thousand) and Green Canyon (Rp15 thousand)," he said.

This white-sand Minang Rua beach is deemed a cheap natural tourist attraction.  Visitors simply pay an entrance ticket of Rp10 thousand each and a parking fee of Rp20 thousand.

Because of its natural characteristics, visitors must be careful to reach the beach. The main factor is the winding, uphill and descending road that can only be passed by one car. Hence, the visitors must take turns going through the challenging path before entering the beach area.

Even so, the scenery around the path is still surrounded by beautiful hills, thus visitors will not be bored undergoing a two-km trip to the beach main gate or payment counter.
