Lampung Selatan  (Antaranews Lampung) - Lampung Governor Muhammad Ridho Ficardo has pledged free schooling for senior high school (SMA) and vocational school (SMK) students in all of the province.

"It already begins in a number of regencies and soon in all of the province," Ridho said in a gathering with school teachers here on Monday (Jan 29).

In addition to free schooling, Ridho also pledged allowance for administrative staff of SMA/SMK as well as for supervisors.

He said the allowance is Rp500,000 each for administrative staff and Rp1.25 million each for supervisors a month.

He said he would seek more teachers who are paid by honorarium to be installed as teachers with the status of civil servants.

"They have the same duty and share the same responsibility with teachers with the status of civil servant. Therefore, they deserve our attention to help guarantee their future," he said.

Lampung Selatan Regent Zainuddin Hasan said development is progressing well in Lampung, pointing to the section of the Trans Sumatra toll road, and the Bakauheni port now having 7 quays.
