I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport police search for Nat Geo photographer's missing hard drives

Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport management and Bali Police search for a missing rolling bag containing laptop, passport, and three hard drives, with numerous rarest animal pictures by Joel Sartore, National Geographic's wildlife photographer.

"We have shared our CCTV records with the police, and we hope it would facilitate the investigations into Joel Sartore's missing bag," communication and legal manager of the airport's operator PT Angkasa Pura I, Arie Ahsanurrohim stated in Badung District, Bali, Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Ngurah Rai Airport Police confirmed having retrieved records from the CCTV and are continuing to examine a blurred picture showing the face of a man, who stole the bag.

Joel Sartore, founder of the Photo Ark, a 25-year documentary project to save rare and endangered species worldwide, was at the airport to return to the United States after staying for three weeks in Indonesia to take pictures of the endangered species.

His Samsonite rolling bag was reported missing when he was waiting at the airport's public commercial zone in the International Departure Terminal.

Apart from the investigation conducted by the Police, Sartore also posted a picture of a blue hard drive on his Instagram official account @joelsartore.

To All Friends of the Photo Ark, Last Friday night at the Bali Airport, one of my pieces of carry-on luggage was stolen, a black Samsonite rolling bag. Unfortunately, the bag contained not only my computer, cameras, and passport, but also three hard drives that were loaded with images and videos of some of the world’s rarest animals.
