Bandarlampung, Lampung, (ANTARA LAMPUNG) - The construction of Jalan Soekarno-Hatta in Bandarlampung, Lampung province, on the Sumatra highway, is scheduled for completion in 15 months, Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto said.

"The project will be built by two contractors," he told a press conference at Novotel Hotel in Bandarlampung Thursday.

He said the contractors will require the approval of the World Bank before starting building the road.

But he said if the World Bank approval is given in another month, the project would have to be completed in the next 15 months.

"Actually the project had been completed two years ago," he said.

He said the fact that the project has not been completed is not made on purpose, but due to bureaucratic factors.

In 2012, the Rp740 billion budget had been allocated for building of roads, bridges and some other infrastructure facilities supporting economic developments in Lampung
