Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA) - The Proud of Indonesian Products National Movement (Gernas BBI) Lagawi Fest 2022 aims to increase online sales of 30 selected small- and medium-sized industries (SMIs) for a period of three months.
"Five SMIs will be chosen to be the best (considering their number of) sales and other criteria," Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries at the Industry Ministry Reni Yanita stated in Bandarlampung on Thursday.Yanita made the statement at the 58th Anniversary celebration of Lampung Province coinciding with the kick-off of "Proud of Indonesian Products National Movement #LagawiFest 2022".
At the Gernas BBI event themed "One Earth, Millions of Works," the local governments were pushed to be more active in supporting the success of regional SMIs in online marketing.
"Hence, I am happy that the Ministry of Industry and the Lampung provincial government can start the #LagawiFest, Proud of Lampung's Entrepreneurial Industries with the message of SMIs as competitive and proud industrial entrepreneurs in presenting the creativity and diversity of local products," Yanita stated.
Yanita also urged the Lampung local government to optimize the purchase of domestic products, including those produced by SMIs.
"We encourage (the Gernas BBI) because (in 2022), we (the government) have a target of purchasing domestic products to reach Rp400 trillion through e-catalogs and online stores, in which Rp200 trillion is expected to come from local governments," Yanita pointed out.
Gernas BBI is a collective movement among the government, business players, and the communities to foster a sense of admiration for local products and to purchase them.
The Indonesian government has consistently campaigned for the love of Indonesian products, with the target to grow the country's domestic industries.
"The 2022 Gernas BBI started in Jambi in January and in South Sulawesi in February, and today, I am very happy that the (Lampung) Governor and his team held the kick-off of Gernas BBI #LagawiFest," Yanita affirmed.
