Lampung Sets Aside Rr365 B For Toll Road Land Clearing

Bandarlampung, Lampung, May 22 (ANTARA LAMPUNG) - The government has set aside Rp365 billion for land clearing for toll road project in the province of Lampung.

"The fund is already available at the public works ministry," said head of the highway construction division of the regional public works office Ali Rahman here on Thursday.

Ali said the toll road would extend 150 kilometers between Bakauheni in Lampung Selatan and Terbanggi Besar in Lampung Tengah.

He said three teams have been set up chaired by the head of the regional office of National Land Office to be in charge of the land clearing.

He said the process of land clearing would be wrapped up this year that construction could start next year.

The district administration of Lampung Selatan said , while carrying out land clearing it would explain the importance of the project to the local people this year.

Lampung Selatan regent Rycko Menoza said although the project is under the responsibility of the central government, the district administration would give its full support for its immediate implementation.

Rycko said the district would gain from the project , therefore, the district administration would give its full support for the project.

The local people also are expected to support implementaiton of the project, he said.

The project would give rise to new economic growth centers that would encourage investors to do business in Lampung, he said.
