Hundreds of Foreign Tourists to Participate in Lampung Kite Festival

According to Choiria, the Lampung`s tourism tagline, "The Treasure of Sumatra," describes the province as a lovely and cozy place for everyone.
Bandarlampung, Aug 22 (ANTARA Lampung) - Three hundred foreign tourists will be participating in the Jelajah Layang-layang kite festival or Kite Exploration, part of a series in Krakatau Festival Lampung 2016.

"The tourists will come from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and France," the Head of Lampung province`s Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Choiria Pandarita, said here on Monday.

She informed that the kite festival will be held from August 25-26, day and night.

"At night, the event will feature multicolor LEDs that will make it more attractive," Choiria added.

The Krakatau Festival 2016 itself will be held from August 24 - 28, and will feature several programs such as Art Market Exploration on August 24-28, Taste Exploration on August 26-28, Krakatau Exploration on August 27 and Cultural Exploration on August 28.

The events involve the government, business sector and people.

Choiria noted that investment realization value in Lampung province reached 139 percent in 2015, much higher than the target set by the National Investment Coordinating Board.

The number of domestic tourists visiting the province increased by 30 percent, while that of foreign tourists increased by 28 percent between 2012 and 2015.

The number of hotels in the province has also increased by 20 percent during 2014-2015.

According to Choiria, the Lampung`s tourism tagline, "The Treasure of Sumatra," describes the province as a lovely and cozy place for everyone.

"The tagline accentuates the natural resources of Lampung that can be enjoyed by all people," she added.
